    What is a certification? A certification is an examination or a record of work-related credentials. It is issued to an individual by an external organization. Certifications are voluntary but may be required by some employers in some occupations.
    What is a license? A license is given to you by the State upon completing certain requirements such as training and certification and a background check. The criteria differ from state to state.
